Dr. Amanda Lefkowitz, DNP, PMHNP-BC
PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER/OWNER
Hi, I’m Dr. Amanda Lefkowitz, founder and owner of New Path Psychiatry. I started this practice in 2018 with a clear vision: to offer compassionate, patient-centered care where collaboration is at the heart of every decision. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in medication management, my focus is on helping clients find a balanced regimen so they can feel like themselves again.
I work mainly with young adults and adults, and occasionally with late teens, guiding them on their mental health journeys. There’s something truly fulfilling about blending the art and science of psychiatry to help people feel better and reach their personal and developmental goals.
My training includes a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Columbia University, a Master’s in Trauma, Crisis, and Stress from Tel Aviv University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing from Pace University and Psychology from Boston University. My approach is best captured by the philosophy I bring into each session: “We’re in this together.” It’s a reminder of my commitment to walk alongside my clients, offering support every step of the way.
I have also had the privilege to receiver the following awards:
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, 2017
The Doctor of Nursing Practice Award, Columbia University School of Nursing, 2019
Healthcare Professional of the Year Award, Caron Treatment Center, 2023
