Fees & Insurance
We believe in transparency, and we don't want fees to be a barrier.
How We Handle Fees
New Path Psychiatry is an out-of-network practice. We chose this model intentionally, it allows us to spend real time with each patient, coordinate with your care team, and provide the level of care we believe everyone deserves.
We know out-of-network can feel daunting. Here's how we make it work:
Super Bills for Reimbursement
We provide a super bill after each session that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many patients recover a significant portion of their fees this way.
Sliding Scale Available
We offer a sliding scale for patients who need it. This is discussed openly during your intake call. Fees should never stand between you and the care you need.
Open Conversation During Intake
Every intake call includes an honest discussion about fees. We want you to feel informed and comfortable before your first appointment, not surprised by a bill afterward.
General Fee Information
We discuss fees openly and honestly during your intake call, before any commitment. Every patient deserves to feel informed rather than surprised by a bill. Specific fee information will be provided during your consultation.
A sliding scale is available for patients who need it, and we provide super bills for insurance reimbursement. We are committed to finding a way to make care accessible for you.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected charges for scheduled care. If you are uninsured or will not be using insurance, we will provide you with a written estimate of expected costs before your appointment.
- Your Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of scheduled items and services so you can make an informed decision.
- You can ask us for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, and we will provide it at least one business day before your appointment (or three business days if requested at the time of scheduling).
- If your final bill is at least $400 higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the bill under the No Surprises Act.
For more information, see the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services No Surprises Act resources or ask us during your intake call.
Common Questions
Do you accept insurance?
We are out-of-network with all insurance plans. We provide super bills that you can submit for potential reimbursement from your insurer.
What is a super bill?
A super bill is a detailed receipt we provide after each visit. It includes diagnosis codes and procedure codes that your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. Many patients receive partial reimbursement.
Is a sliding scale really available?
Yes. We discuss this openly during intake. If cost is a concern, please bring it up, we want to find a way to make this work for you.
How do I know what my insurance will reimburse?
We recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card and asking about your out-of-network mental health benefits. Ask specifically about your deductible, co-insurance rate, and whether prior authorization is needed.
