What Is Vivitrol?
Vivitrol (naltrexone extended-release) is a monthly injection used in the treatment of alcohol and opioid use disorders. Unlike daily medications, Vivitrol is administered once a month, which helps patients stay on track with their recovery without relying on daily compliance.
Many patients come to Vivitrol after trying oral naltrexone and finding they need a more consistent option. The monthly injection removes the daily decision and provides steady, reliable support.
A Program Unlike Any Other
In-Home Administration
Our registered nurse Linda comes to your home (or another location you choose) to administer your monthly injection. No clinic visits, no waiting rooms, no disruption to your day.
Two Pathways
Referral-Based Care: Already have a psychiatrist? Keep them. Amanda does a focused check-in on your substance use and Vivitrol response, then sends a summary to your referring provider. Your existing care team stays intact.
Direct Treatment: Need comprehensive psychiatric care alongside Vivitrol? Amanda manages your entire treatment, medication management, Vivitrol coordination, and ongoing psychiatric support.
Experienced, Compassionate Nursing
Linda is an experienced registered nurse and a trusted member of our team. She provides more than an injection, she checks in on your wellbeing, answers questions, and serves as an additional point of support in your recovery.
Is Vivitrol Right for You?
Vivitrol may be a good fit if you:
- Are in recovery from alcohol or opioid use disorder
- Have tried oral naltrexone and need a more consistent option
- Want support that doesn't require daily medication compliance
- Are living in a sober living facility and need structured medication support
- Have a psychiatrist who has recommended Vivitrol but doesn't administer injections
We also provide long-acting injectable antipsychotics for patients whose treatment plans include them.
How It Works
- Initial consultation: A telehealth visit with Amanda to assess your needs, discuss your history, and determine if Vivitrol is appropriate.
- Nurse scheduling: We coordinate with Linda to schedule your first in-home injection at a time that works for you.
- Monthly injections: Linda visits you each month to administer the injection and check in on your progress.
- Ongoing psychiatric support: Regular follow-ups with Amanda (or your existing psychiatrist if referral-based) to monitor your treatment.
